Raigarh: Two arrested for selling illicit liquor near a Dhaba

On the instructions of the police station in-charge, the Punjipathra staff surrounded the area at Tamnar Chowk Punjipathra and arrested the accused Giriraj Singh, father late Nripat Singh, age 45 years, resident of Chamrawala, Police Station Nagina, District Bijnor (U.P.), currently residing at Punjipathra Sahu Hotel, District Raigarh, with 07 bulk liters of Mahua liquor kept in a 10-liter capacity jerrycan. In another action, the Punjipathra police arrested the female accused Sushila Sahu, wife of Ugrasen Sahu, age 29 years, resident of Godgoda, Police Station Punjipathra, District Raigarh, near Tamnar Chowk with about 06 bulk liters of Mahua liquor filled in a 10-liter capacity plastic jerrycan. Action has been taken against both the accused separately under Section 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act at Police Station Punjipathra. The Punjipathra police is keeping an eye on illegal liquor sale in dhabas and hotels.
