Solan: Nauni University ready to organize program on crop pest control

Solan: The Department of Entomology, Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, in collaboration with the National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (ICAR-NBAIR), Bengaluru, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, is organizing the 33rd Annual Group Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP-BC) on Biological Control of Crop Pests on June 13-14.

70 scientists and invitees from more than 30 ICAR institutes, state agricultural universities, state biological control laboratories and corporate houses will participate in the two-day workshop. Scientists from various state agricultural universities and ICAR institutes will present and discuss their works on natural enemies of various pests, biodiversity of invasive pests and management of crop pests using biocontrol agents. The program will be chaired by Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR, while UHF Vice Chancellor Rajeshwar Chandel will be the chief guest.
