Ahmedabad: Fed up with the threats of usurers, a middle-aged man tried to commit suicide by consuming rat poison.

Gujarat Police has recently started action against usurers. Police took action against moneylenders who forced people to commit suicide even after charging huge interest from them. Despite this, these usurers are indiscriminately and recklessly charging interest from the people. Living in New Ranip of the city, the middle-aged man paid the interest on the borrowed money on time and despite paying more than double the principal amount, the usurers demanded more money from him and used foul language after coming home, saying that he would be thrown out of the house. Threatened to do Due to which the middle-aged man got fed up and started killing rats.

According to the details received, Hitesh Bhai Rathod, who lives in New Ranip area of Ahmedabad, supports his family by doing furniture work. Since money was needed in his house for his daughter’s marriage, he borrowed three lakh rupees five years ago from a man named Kalpesh Mistry at four per cent interest. Under which the papers of the house were given. Till now he has given seven lakh twenty thousand rupees to this Kalpesh. When he took one lakh four percent interest from Himmat Mistry, in lieu of which he paid one lakh 47 thousand rupees. Whereas Prabhat took Rs 2.5 lakh from Rabari and gave him Rs 7.5 lakh along with interest. Despite paying this much amount, these usurers wanted the principal amount and more interest on it. They used to come home and threaten the family using foul language. That’s why Hitesh Rathod got fed up and tried to commit suicide by drinking rat poison.
