Delhi Police on Saturday said that they have taken stringent measures to ensure security in the national capital during the swearing-in ceremony of prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on June 9, 2024. Multi-layered security arrangements have been made and NSG commandos, drones and snipers have been deployed to protect the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the mega event.

Five companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed to protect the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi Police officials said.

Kartavya Path police station officials are keeping an eye on the areas through CCTV cameras.

The area around the Rashtrapati Bhavan has been declared a ‘controlled’ zone and vehicles holding passes for the mega event will only be allowed to ply in areas like Sansad Marg, Rafi Marg, Raisina Road, Rajendra Prasad Road, Mother Teresa Crescent and Sardar Patel Marg.

Section 144 has been imposed in the entire national capital as dignitaries from across the world will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Tight security arrangements have been made as per the protocol of every head of state.

Security has also been beefed up at the hotels where the foreign dignitaries will be staying.

The entire event will be monitored by over 500 CCTV cameras.

Earlier on Friday evening, the Delhi Police declared the national capital a no-flying zone and banned flying of certain objects in the NCT for two days till June 10, 2024. During this period, flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms such as paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, UAVs, UAS, microlight aircraft and remote-controlled aircraft has been banned in the national capital. The Delhi Police said the prohibition will be in force for two days, June 9 and 10. Violation of the order will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, the Delhi Police said.
