Dal Makhani is a Punjabi dish. Which is usually included in every party menu. The addition of butter, kasoori fenugreek, green chilli and tomato tadka to whole urad dal adds life to the taste of Dal Makhani. You can also serve Dal Makhani to the guests coming to your house. You can serve it with rice, naan or missi roti.
Material-
whole urad dal
Water
Salt
ginger, finely chopped
butter

Shahi Jeera
musk fenugreek
Tomato Puree
chilli powder
Sugar
Cream

Method- To make Dal Makhani, first add water, one tablespoon salt and ginger to the lentils and keep it to boil until it becomes soft. Heat butter in a heavy bottom pan and add Shahi Jeera, Kasturi Methi to it. When it crackles, add tomato puree, remaining salt, chilli and sugar and fry on high flame until the oil separates. Now add boiled lentils to it and mix well. Keep in mind that the dal should neither be too thick nor too thin. If needed, you can add a little water. Keep it on low flame without covering, add cream on top and serve immediately. Don’t forget to garnish with green chillies.
