Hyderabad DGC releases Rs 4.76 crore in response to 159 complaints

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad District Grievance Committee on Thursday released over Rs 4.76 crore in response to 159 complaints. Around 166 cases (Rs 6.09 crore) were registered in Hyderabad district in view of the Lok Sabha elections and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

At least 166 people who contacted the committee were unable to produce valid evidence on the spot i.e. at the time of seizure (Rs 4,48,63,435). Of them, 159 persons submitted documents and as a result, DGC has released Rs 4.76 crore.
He said cash worth Rs 66.55 lakh has been sent to the Income Tax and Commercial Tax departments in connection with four cases where cash worth more than Rs 10 lakh was seized.
