I am not worthy of my in-laws’ house, a woman hanged herself with a suicide note written on her hand
Raigarh. Don’t know what happened to a newlywed in just 10 months of marriage that she bid goodbye to the world untimely by hanging herself with her saree in a closed room. Not only this, before committing suicide the woman also wrote on her hand that I am not worthy of my in-laws’ house. The matter is of Kharsia police station area. Assistant Sub-Inspector Hemant Kashyap, who is investigating the case, said that Jaiprakash Patel, resident of Chhote Devgaon village near Kharsia, was married to Lakshmi (21) of Ranisagar in June 2023. Jaiprakash used to drive tractor and JCB. Last Sunday, Jayaprakash left his wife and mother at home and went to a marriage function in the village along with his three brothers and father.
When Lakshmi’s mother-in-law went to her room around 12 o’clock in the night, she found the door locked from inside. When the door did not open even after a lot of knocking, the people nearby peeped through the window and were stunned to see the sight inside. Actually, Lakshmi was swinging on the noose of her saree tied in the balcony of the room. Meanwhile, when the family members arrived and broke the door, Lakshmi was taken to the Civil Hospital of nearby Kharsia, the doctors declared her dead in the preliminary examination itself.
When the police took stock of the dead body, they found something written in the hand. When the men in uniform looked carefully, it was written that I am not worthy of this family. No one should be blamed for my death. However, Kharsia police, which handed over the body of the newlyweds to the Patel family for last rites after post-mortem, is busy in investigation by establishing a track.
