Executive engineer arrested in rape case, used to take girl to hotel
Raipur. The police has arrested the executive engineer of PHE department posted in Jagdalpur. It is being told that the engineer had lured the girl from Jashpur to Jagdalpur. After which the accused engineer took the girl to a hotel in Jagdalpur and raped her. The victim alleges that the accused engineer not only assaulted her but also threatened her with death if she disclosed the incident. After the report of the victim, the police arrested the accused engineer from Raipur.
According to the information, Harsh Kumar Shende, resident of New Gayatri Nagar of the capital Raipur, is posted as EE in the PHE department of Jagdalpur. Engineer Harsh Kumar Shende has been arrested by the police from Khamhardih police station area. It is being told that the victim, resident of Jashpur district, had lodged an FIR regarding the rape incident in Tumga police station. The victim told that on February 7, Harsh Kumar Shende, executive engineer of PHE department posted in Jagdalpur, had called her on the pretext of some work. The girl fell into his trap and reached Jagdalpur. After which the engineer took the girl to Hotel Akash in City Kotwali area of Jagdalpur. Where he tried to rape the girl. When the girl protested against this, the accused assaulted her and then raped her.
The victim has alleged that after this incident, the accused threatened to kill the girl if she mentioned the incident to anyone. After the incident, when the girl showed courage and lodged an FIR against the accused in Jashpur district, the family members of the accused started calling from mobile phone and threatening the victim by pressurizing her to withdraw the report. Since the place of incident was the city police station area of Jagdalpur, Jashpur police had registered the crime at zero and sent the case diary to Jagdalpur. After which Jagdalpur police raided Raipur to arrest the accused engineer who was absconding after the incident. The police team has arrested the accused engineer Harsh Kumar Shende from New Gayatri Nagar Mahamaya Vihar Khamhardih police station Raipur. After the police registered a crime against the accused engineer, he was produced in the court. From where he has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
