Drunken fight then lost his temper, killed his wife
Bilaspur. A dreadful case of murder has come to light from the court. In Sarkanda area, on the night of Holi, a drunken husband attacked his wife with a sword. The woman injured in this attack died in agony. After committing the incident, the accused husband fled from the spot. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, established a route and started investigation. The reason behind the murder is said to be a dispute between husband and wife.
This incident took place in Chingarajpara of Bilaspur. The husband and wife lived in a rented house located in Bharat Chowk, Chingrajpara. Both used to work as labourers. Husband Mukesh Sahu (28 years) and deceased Shweta Kaushik (23 years) had a love marriage about two years ago. Mukesh Sahu is originally a resident of Lakhasar of Sakri police station area.
On the night of Holi, when Mukesh returned home under the influence of alcohol, they both had a fight over some issue. Due to Mukesh being drunk, he lost his temper and attacked his wife Shweta with a stick, due to which she died on the spot. After committing the incident the accused husband absconded. As soon as information about the matter was received, Sarkanda police reached the spot. The police conducted Panchnama and sent the body of the deceased for post-mortem.
