Two tourist taxi accidents reported within 12 hours

Colvale: Two accidents occurred within 12 hours, both involving tourist taxis. In both the cases, tourist taxis were seen violating motor vehicle rules.

The first self-crash was involving a tourist taxi in Colvale on Wednesday morning. The major accident took place on Colvale National Highway 66.
According to sources, the taxi driver was driving fast on the highway towards Manohar International Airport at Mopa. Suddenly he lost control of his vehicle and veered onto the highway, causing his car to overturn.

Local passengers reached the spot to help the taxi driver. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the driver suffered minor injuries. Local people immediately took the injured driver to the hospital for treatment.
This is the second accident within 12 hours involving Goa taxis. The previous accident was reported to have taken place between two taxis on Old Patto Bridge in Panaji late on Tuesday evening. Fortunately, no one was injured in that accident either, but both the vehicles suffered minor damage. Despite knowing that it was a no-entry zone on the Old Patto Bridge, a taxi driver drove through the bridge causing a minor accident. In both the cases, taxi drivers were seen violating traffic rules and road safety, which led to accidents.
