Speaking to reporters after meeting Eshwarappa, Agarwal said it was his personal visit and had nothing to do with politics. “We are friends from the same party. This was our personal journey. I sat with his family. There were children there. We don’t talk to children about politics. Aggarwal said, meeting the family is not a political issue for me.

Eshwarappa on Sunday once again vented his anger against former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who is a member of the BJP’s parliamentary board, over his denial of ticket to his son KE Kantesh. His rebellion has come as a major embarrassment for the party as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Shivamogga, the home town of Yediyurappa and Eshwarappa, on Monday. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come back to power and the party should be freed from the control of BS Yediyurappa and his family. With this intention in my mind, I am contesting the Lok Sabha elections,” the former DCM told reporters here. Eshwarappa said central level BJP leaders are under the illusion that only Yediyurappa can help them get a certain number of seats. “We have to tell the central leadership about the bad politics happening in Karnataka. We call Congress a party controlled by the family of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Modi also targets Congress for this. Now, the BJP in Karnataka is becoming like the Congress,” Eshwarappa said.

“Leaders at the central and state levels will understand that I am protesting. That’s why I’m contesting the election,” he stressed. Pointing out that Yediyurappa is now a member of the BJP parliamentary board and his son Vijayendra is the state BJP president, Eshwarappa said, “The entire BJP in the grip of one family is against the principles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Responding to this, Vijayendra, who is also the BJP MLA from Shikaripur, said, “The people of the state and the constituency will respond. I won’t say much. He is senior in our party. I believe everything will be fine. He is in pain, but everything will be sorted out in the end.”
