Theft worth lakhs from teacher’s abandoned house, case registered

Korba. A teacher’s house was stolen in NTPC’s Yamuna Vihar in Korba district. Unknown thieves stole Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand. Police reached the spot and started investigation. The matter is of Darri police station area. According to the information, Ragini Chauhan, a teacher posted at Government School Yamuna Vihar, had gone for duty at 9 am on Friday. His son also went to work. Husband and daughter had gone to Bilaspur for some work. There was only daughter-in-law in the house, who was on the upper floor. After finishing her work, the maid of the house had locked the room downstairs and given the key to her daughter-in-law.

When the daughter-in-law came down for some work, she saw that the lock of the house was broken. When she went inside, all the stuff was scattered. A total of Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand, including cash and goods, was stolen. As soon as information about the incident was received, landlord Ragini Chauhan and the police reached the house. Darri police station in-charge Rupak Sharma said that the incident site has been investigated. The theft was committed in broad daylight, hence there is a suspicion that some known person may be involved in the incident. The case is being investigated. The family members and surrounding people are being interrogated.
