The criminal hanged himself in the police station, accused the police of taking money

Ramanujganj. A monitored criminal from the city, who returned home from Kotwali police station on Tuesday night, committed suicide by hanging himself in his room on Wednesday morning. In this case, the family members of the deceased have accused the police of torture. He says that the police took him to the police station in the name of fingerprints and demanded money by threatening to arrest him. Because of this he took this step. Police arrived on information and are investigating the matter.

The name of 30 year old Vikas Prajapati, resident of Ramanujganj Road of the city, is included in the list of criminals monitored in the police station. Here, in view of the Lok Sabha elections, fingerprints of goons and miscreants are being taken by Surguja Police. In the same sequence, the Kotwali police had also taken Vikas Prajapati to the police station on Tuesday. Vikas, who returned home from the police station at night, told his family that after taking his fingerprints, the police demanded money from him. He said that if the money is not given then he will be deported.

Meanwhile, at around 6 am on Wednesday, the young man hanged himself in his room. When the family reached his room, they found him in a serious condition and hanged him. After this they were taking him to Mission Hospital. During this time he died on the way. Here the family members of the deceased allege that he was upset due to the police demanding money and threatening the District Magistrate. He says that he has taken this step only because of police harassment. On information, Kotwali police reached the spot and started investigation.
