Female doctor hanged herself in her room, police reached the spot

Bilaspur. Dr. Pooja Chaurasia, a medical officer posted in the district hospital, committed suicide by hanging herself. The doctor hanged himself in his parents’ home on Sunday night. There was no one in the house during this time. The matter is of Sirgitti police station area. Medical Officer Pooja Chaurasia was a medical officer in the district hospital. Her husband Dr. Aniket Kaushik is also a government doctor in the district hospital. Pooja Chaurasia’s maternal house is in Sirgitti police station area. His mother and brother live in America. The doctor couple did not have any children at present. Pooja and Aniket had a love marriage 4 years ago. After which the husband and wife lived in Ashok Nagar of Sarkanda. For the last three-four days, Pooja was staying in her maternal house in Tifra, Sirgitti.

His mother and brother were in America. Hence Pooja was living alone in the house. Pooja’s husband Aniket Chaurasia was on duty last night. During this time, they got information from the neighbors about Pooja hanging herself in her maternal house in Tifra. Then he ran to his in-laws house. Then on receiving information about the incident, Sirgitti police reached the spot. Police have not found any suicide note from the spot. Initial investigation has revealed that Dr. Pooja Chaurasia’s father had died in America recently. After this Pooja went into depression. There is talk of taking suicidal steps due to depression. The police have done the Panchnama of the dead body and kept it in the mortuary. The post-mortem of the body will be conducted after the deceased’s mother and brother return from America.
