Used to steal friends’ bike after drinking alcohol, accused arrested

Jashpur. In Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, police has taken major action in the case of bike theft. Four stolen bikes and one scooter have been seized from the possession of vicious thief Amarnath Soni. Along with this, 3 mobile phones have also been seized, the value of which is said to be Rs 2 lakh 80 thousand. The entire matter is of Duldula police station area. According to the information received from the police, on February 5, Jailus Kujur of village Kalaru had lodged a report. He had sent his acquaintance Deepak on a scooter to deliver money to his relative’s house in village Simra. Meanwhile, an unknown person asked for a lift on the way.

After this, an unknown person stole the scooter and mobile phone and ran away from near Deepa Toli shop of village Charaidand. The police had registered a case of theft in the matter and were searching for the accused. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh, a police team was prepared and the scooter was seized from the unknown accused. The accused told during interrogation that apart from this theft, he had also stolen a bike from near Katghora Chowk.

Along with this, HF Deluxe bike was stolen from near Manendragarh Road Bhatthi, Hero Honda Passion Pro from near Ambikapur Pratappur Naka, a Honda Leo bike near Ghoraghat Sisaringa Ghat, 2 mobiles were stolen from Jashpur. 5 bikes have been recovered from the accused. Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh said that the accused Amarnath Soni used to go to drinking places and befriend unknown persons. After consuming alcohol, he would ask for a bike for some time, then run away with the bike. Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh said that the accused Amarnath Soni alias Bittu Malar (23), resident of Kunkuri Navatoli, has been arrested. The accused was presented in the court, who has been sent on remand by the court.
