IDF shells Hezbollah positions in South Lebanon, West Bank

Tel Aviv: Media reports said Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched heavy shelling on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon and the West Bank.

Reports say IDF warplanes have shelled the Aita As Shab and Kafr Kila areas in southern Lebanon, as well as Hezbollah infrastructure in the West Bank. The Israeli attack comes after rocket attacks in Metula, Malakia and Gazar on Sunday, reportedly by Hezbollah.

Israeli intelligence has said that it expects tension in the West Bank to increase in the coming days. It has also increased the deployment of troops in the border areas of the West Bank. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah also recently, in his televised address, strongly criticized Israel over the situation in Gaza and the plight of Palestinians. Israel has also warned Hezbollah and publicly declared that Israel is prepared for war if necessary.
