Truck driver who absconded with 25 metric tons of pipe arrested

Raigarh. The driver who absconded with 25 metric tons of MS pipe in a truck from Shri Chandrahasini Ispat Private Limited Company Gerwani has been arrested today by Kapitalpathra Police and sent on remand. Pipes worth Rs 14 lakh have been embezzled by the accused driver in connivance with the vehicle owner. Regarding the incident, on March 01, the company’s human resources officer Sheikh Shahnawaz applied to Kapitpathra police station and lodged a report against the driver. The reporter told that on February 3, 25.130 metric tons of MS pipe worth Rs 14,43,886 was loaded from his company Chandrahasini Ispat Private Limited Company in truck number CG 08 L 1916 through Mahavir Logistics Transport and sent to M/s Vijay Lakshmi Steel Lucknow. . While taking the load, the driver had submitted the license and Aadhar card in the name of Awadhesh Sahu, when the goods were not delivered till 14th February, the driver and the vehicle owner were contacted.

Both their mobiles were found switched off, on which an application was filed at Kapitpathra police station on suspicion of misappropriation of goods and a crime was registered against the driver. An offense was registered against the driver under Section 407 IPC by the police station in-charge Inspector Trinath Tripathi and the accused was traced, in which today the driver was caught near Gerwani on the information of an informer. The driver of the vehicle revealed his real name to be Vijay Kumar Pathak, resident of Garhwa, Jharkhand and regarding the incident, the accused driver told that on the request of the vehicle owner, he gave a fake Aadhaar card in the name of Awadhesh Sahu, a photocopy of the driving license in the transport and kept the goods in the truck. After loading it, it was taken to Aurangabad along with the truck and dropped off. In connection with the preparation of fake documents by the accused, Section 420 IPC has been added and the accused Vijay Kumar Pathak, father of late Ghura Pathak, aged 50 years, resident of Bakoiya police station, Majhigaon district Garhwa (Jharkhand), has been arrested today and sent on judicial remand. Police station in-charge Kapitalpathra Inspector Trinath Tripathi is continuing the investigation in relation to other accused in the case.
