West Bengal native arrested in Nagpur for alleged rape in Asgao

Panjim: Anjuna police on Friday arrested a West Bengal native for allegedly raping a female employee in December 2023. The accused was absconding after committing the crime. The police could not trace him to his native West Bengal address and eventually a team of Goa Police traced him to Nagpur in Maharashtra.

The victim, in a complaint filed by Janua at Anjuna police station, said that the accused Mainul Hasan Choudhary, who was her manager, forcibly had sexual intercourse with the complainant on several occasions at TNK, Assagao on the false pretext of marriage and thus raped her. rape. Had absconded after committing the crime.
Police later traced the accused to Nagpur Maharashtra and a team led by PSI Swapnil Naik, police constables Abhishek Kasar, Sudhir Sawant of Anjuna police station arrested him.
The accused has been sent to police custody for three days. Further investigation is underway with LPSI Sneha Sawal under the supervision of PI Prashal Desai. The accused has been arrested under section 376 of the IPC.
