Chhattisgarh Muslim community informed the Governor about the increasing oppression of minority community in the state

Raipur. Today a delegation of Muslim community of Chhattisgarh met Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan and hosted Iftar together during the upcoming Ramzan and they talked about the events happening in the state. Through a memorandum, the Muslim community told the Governor that Chhattisgarh is a peaceful state, here people from different religions, castes and different provinces have been living together in a harmonious environment for years. The Muslim population in Chhattisgarh is about 3 percent, which mainly resides in big cities, towns and villages. 55 km in the capital Raipur. Similarly, in the third incident, the boundary wall of the cemetery in Kawardha was built by the Municipal Council Kawardha, which was constructed by the Municipality Kawardha, which was demolished targeting a particular religion. It is noteworthy here that the CMO by whom the said construction work was approved was the same CMO N. Of. Verma is currently posted as CMO and even after that the construction was demolished on the grounds that it was illegal.

On 23.12.2023, a person named Sadhuram was murdered in Kawardha, in which the Superintendent of Police, Kawardha, was told to arrest 5 youths on the basis of mobile tower location and when asked for clarification, there was a round of discussion. When the motive behind the murder was asked, the jail was opened late in the night in case of suspicion, he was taken on remand and admitted to the jail late in the night, C.B. lodged a complaint against the suspicious arrest. Demand for investigation of I. was made by Sarva Samaj on 02.02.2024. After this, Kawardha was closed on 14.02.2024 regarding this matter. Under the pressure of various Hindu organizations, UAPA has been imposed on 18.02.2024 against the accused and for personal gain by the Superintendent of Police, Kawardha.

The society requested that while providing fear-free security to the people of minority Muslim community, it is important to take law and order into one’s own hands and conduct a thorough investigation of the alleged incident and take legal action against the officer/person involved in demolishing the house through bulldozers. Please please. Also, please direct for adequate security arrangements for the mosques which are located in small villages of Chhattisgarh. Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan took cognizance of all the incidents and promised to take appropriate action.
