Bhutan team visits Assam’s Barpeta Deputy Commissioner office

BARPETA: The new Director General, Dasho Pasang Dorji, Department of Law and Order, Ministry of Home Affairs Bhutan, and Dasho Tashi Penjore, outgoing Director General DLO, MHA Bhutan, and their team visited the Barpeta DC’s office on Wednesday. The team participated in an informal meeting with Aayush Garg, Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, and Amitabh Sinha, Barpeta Superintendent of Police. The meeting was also attended by Nabajyoti Ojha, DDC Barpeta, Khanindra Das, ADC Barpeta, Lakhimi Dutta, ADC Barpeta, and other officers. The Barpeta Deputy Commissioner in his welcome address stated that the visit by dignitaries from Bhutan at the grassroots level would build and strengthen the Indo-Bhutan bilateral ties. Both the Director Generals in their speech said that Barpeta has been serving as an important trade and commerce centre for the people of Bhutan since time immemorial. The Barpeta DC expressed hope of strengthening cordial relations between the two countries in future.
