Non camp migrants hold interactive meet, discuss issues with RRC

 An interactive meet of Kashmiri migrants living in non-camps was convened at Udheywala near here, today by Vishal Jotshi coordinator, Vitasta Helping Hand Trust in which the problems of community were highlighted.
Dr. Arvind Karwani Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC) was the chief guest. Senior community activists and leaders, M.K. Yogi and Vinod Pandita were the guests of honour.
M K Yogi in his address highlighted the plight of PM package employees and said that more than 1500 PM package employees mainly females are putting up on rent basis in the Valley facing miseries and they need accommodation near their workplaces on priority basis. He also called for the enhancement of monthly cash assistance from Rs. 13,000/ to 25,000/, the creation of a new employment package for the unemployed educated youth of the community.
Yogi raised the issue of removal M-Forms ahead of the coming Lok Sabha polls for making voting system for displaced community simple and transparent.
Addressing the meeting Vinod Pandita emphasized the need for a concrete and time-bound rehabilitation policy for the return of the displaced community. Pandita also called for the implementation of the Immovable Migrant Property Act 1997 and urged the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to coordinate in this respect as a nodal agency. Pandita further highlighted the plight of migrants of Purkhoo Phase II living in deplorable conditions and demanded suitable accommodation for them.
Vaibhav Mattoo highlighted the issues of provisions for regular supply of drinking water in all camps, internal repairs and maintenance of quarters.
The representatives of all PM Package Coordination Committee, Rubon Saproo, Ranjan Jotshi, Vinod Tickoo and Amit Koul highlighted the genuine problems of package employees like issues of accommodation, promotion, transfer etc.
Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr.Arvind Karwani assured the displaced community that he would leave no stone unturned in mitigating the genuine issues of the community and would take all these issues at the highest level in administration for their early solution.
