CMC raid in Cuttack, 8 kgs of stale food destroyed

Cuttack: CMC has conducted raids to check food safety at eateries in various areas of Cuttack, said reliable reports in this regard on Tuesday. The food safety team of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) started its drive to check food quality across the Silver city.

The CMC Enforcement team imposed a hefty fine on a restaurant owner in CDA Sec 6 for conducting commercial activity in residential area, violation of SWM rule and for keeping stale food, shared CMC via an X (formerly Twitter) post.

It is worth mentioning here that CMC conducted raids headed by Deputy Commissioner Shri Ajaya Mohanty destroyed around 8kgs of stale food. Further, samples were taken and sent to the lab for analysis.

CMC Enforcement team imposed a hefty fine on a restaurant owner in CDA Sector 6 for conducting commercial activity in residential area which is a blatant violation of SWM rule and for keeping stale food.

The owner was asked to submit Fire NOC and Approval Plan of the Restaurant at an earliest by the CMC team. A fine was also imposed on a Hotel Owner in Sec 9, for conducting commercial activity in residential area.

Further it is worth mentioning here that, the hotel was operating without trade license, non-payment of holding tax as well as for inadequate sanitation facilities. The owner was asked to submit all required documents at the earliest.
