Medigadda visit a diversionary tactic: Harish Rao

Former irrigation minister T Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of orchestrating a diversionary tactic with his visit to Medigadda, alleging it was meant to shift public focus away from the Nalgonda public meeting.

Addressing reporters at the Assembly media point, Rao claimed that the Chief Minister’s sudden visit to Medigadda was a strategic move to draw attention away from the upcoming Nalgonda public gathering. He pointed out that the Legislators’ tour program was hastily organized following the announcement of the Nalgonda meeting, where party president K Chandrasekhar Rao was scheduled to attend. Drawing parallels to past incidents such as the sinking of piers at Medigadda barrage, the Panjagutta flyover mishap in 2007, and previous issues with pipelines at the Devadula project, Rao implied a pattern of negligence or mismanagement.

Expressing frustration over what he perceived as the suppression of the ‘principal Opposition’ in the House, Rao lamented the denial of their right to speak. He criticized the undermining of basic democratic principles within the legislative body. Rao also objected to the Chief Minister’s address, particularly since the issue was not disclosed in the agenda. He voiced his party’s dissatisfaction at being deprived of the opportunity to respond to the allegations raised in the House.

Harish Rao’s remarks underscored the growing tensions and political maneuvering within the state’s legislative framework, highlighting concerns about transparency and fairness in governance.
