Militia member absconding in murder case arrested
Bijapur. As part of the anti-Naxal operation, an absconding militia member involved in the murder of a villager has been arrested in a joint action by CRPF Sarkeguda Camp and Basaguda Police Station on Saturday. According to information received from the police, during the anti-Naxal operation on Saturday, a joint team of police arrested Soyam Baburao (33), an absconding accused involved in the murder of villager Ramaiya Dasar.
It is known that on September 21, 2020, Ramaiya Dasar, father of villager Ramaiya Dasar, resident of Manjhipra Putkel, along with a large cadre of Naxalites, was involved in the incident of murder on the suspicion of being a police informer. The arrested accused was absconding after the incident. Police had received information from the informer that he was again intimidating people in the area and supplying goods to Naxalites. Based on the information, the police was successful in arresting the said absconding accused by conducting a raid. After legal action was taken against the absconding accused in Basaguda police station, he was produced in the court in Bijapur on judicial remand.
