Kerala News: Collaboration in Startup Ecosystem-R&D Institute works

Thiruvananthapuram: In an effort to collaborate the startup ecosystem with Research and Development Institutes (R&D) in the state, Research Innovation Network Kerala (RINK) of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has entered into a fruitful collaboration with the scientific community at the Institute of Advanced Had a conversation. Virology (IAV) in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. As a part of this, an exposure visit was recently conducted by RINK to the IAV campus at Life Sciences Park in the state capital.

IAV is an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology under the State Government.

The visit provided a platform for the startups to gain valuable insights from accomplished scientists and experts in the field besides exploring opportunities for incubation and co-development of products and services with the Institute.

The visit also covered the central instrument facilities and participated in interactive sessions with scientists. IAV’s visit underlined RINK’s commitment to promote knowledge-sharing and collaboration between the academic community and startups in the state’s ecosystem. This initiative highlighted the extensive support given by KSUM to empower entrepreneurs in the field of science, which opens a vast door of opportunities for startups.

Dr. E. Sreekumar, Director, IAV, said, “We are thrilled to facilitate the possibilities of collaborative R&D and collaboration between startups and the Institute of Advanced Virology.”

The Innovation and Translation Facilitation Center (ITFC), the premier incubation facility of the institute, is dedicated to supporting startups and industries in various streams of life sciences, with a special focus on addressing infectious diseases.
