CHANDIGARH: Car dealer convicted in three-year-old murder case
A local court has convicted Jaspreet Sharma, 31, resident of Sector 19, in a three-year-old murder case. Based on the statement of Jagdeep Singh, who brought the body, the police had registered a case against car dealer Sharma under section 302 of the IPC and sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. The victim has been admitted to Manimajra Civil Hospital. Jagdeep Singh alleged that the victim Jaspreet Singh was murdered by Sharma in the industrial area here. He claimed that on November 13, 2021, Singh told him that he had to take Rs 9 lakh from Sharma. He said Singh told Singh that he would pay the money at his office. However, on the way to his office in Phase 1, Sharma stopped the car at a light point. They got out of their cars and started arguing. Jagdeep said that in the midst of the argument, Sharma took out a pistol and fired two shots at Singh. While the suspect fled the spot, Jagdeep took his friend Singh to Mani Majra Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead. After the arrest, Sharma was presented in the court. He pleaded innocent and claimed a trial. After hearing the arguments, the court declared the accused guilty of the charges framed against him. The court will pronounce the sentence on February 2.
