LUDHIANA: Person found dead under mysterious circumstances

Ludhiana: A person was found dead under suspicious circumstances near Tajpur Road early today. The police kept the body in the civil hospital for postmortem. The deceased has been identified as Dharamveer alias Happy.

The family has also filed a complaint demanding registration of a murder case.

Kamaljeet Kaur, wife of the deceased, said that her husband had gone to his friend Balveer Singh Chandi’s house to drink alcohol last night and when he did not return, a search was launched for him. His body was found near a dyeing unit at some distance from Chandi’s house. Police Division 7 SHO Sukhdev Singh Brar said that there were no injury marks on the body of the deceased, which suggests that he might not have been murdered.

Inquiry proceedings under section 174 of CrPC have been initiated and investigation is underway.
