Young man selling illegal liquor in Mandir Hasaud arrested

Raipur. According to the intention of the government, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has directed all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges including in-charges of anti-crime and cyber units to stop smuggling of liquor coming from other states as well as in relation to people buying and selling liquor illegally. After investigation, instructions have been given to take action. In view of which, all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police and in-charge ACCU. Along with collecting information in this regard, police station in-charges are also collecting information through other means along with appointing informers. In the same sequence, on 30.01.2024, information was received that a person in village Umaria under Police Station Mandir Hasaud area has kept liquor illegally in his house and is selling it.

On which, under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of station in-charge Mandir Hassaud, the team of police station Mandir Hassaud went to the said place, identified the person of the description described by the informer and surrounded him and arrested him. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Vishwajit Joshi, resident of village Umaria Mandir, Hasaud Raipur. When the team members searched the sack kept with him, it was found to contain liquor. When Vishwajeet Joshi demanded valid documents regarding the keeping/selling of liquor, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which the accused Vishwajeet Joshi was arrested and illegally kept from his possession 150 pauvas of country liquor Jumla worth about Rs 16,500/- and crime number 65/24 Section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered against the accused in Police Station Mandir Hasaud. Tax action was taken.
