Highway collides with a parked truck, five killed
Patna: On Thursday night, a highway collided with a truck parked on the roadside in Rani Talab police station area of Patna, Bihar. In this accident, five people who were repairing the truck died tragically.
According to the police, a truck broke down near Saidabad Chowk of Rani Talab late night. After this the driver called three mechanics from nearby. The driver and three mechanics were trying to fix the truck by placing it on a jack. Meanwhile, a highway collided with a parked truck. At the time of the collision, the truck fell off the jack and three mechanics, the driver and the co-driver were crushed to death.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Ranitalab police reached the spot and investigated the matter. Rani Talab police station in-charge Durgesh Kumar said that all the bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
He said that the deceased have been identified as truck driver Jageshwar Das, resident of Sitamarhi, and Ajit Kumar, resident of Rani Talab. The remaining bodies have not been identified yet. After the incident, the driver of the Hiva left the vehicle and ran away.
