10 kg ganja found from Bikaner Express, smuggler arrested
Bilaspur. GRP’s anti crime team raided the AC bogie of Puri-Bikaner Express and recovered 10 kg of ganja from a youth. He was buying ganja from Sambalpur and taking it to Mathura. The accused was dropped at the zonal station. After this a crime was registered against him. GRP Anti Crime Team is continuously taking action against ganja smugglers. On Wednesday also, GRP station in-charge DN Srivastava received information from the informer. On which he alerted the team members and gave instructions to raid the AC coach after the train reached Bilaspur railway station. Team members Laxman Gain, Santosh Rathore, Saurabh Nagvanshi, Mannu Prajapati reached the platform and started waiting for the train to arrive. As soon as the train stopped on the platform. The team surrounded the AC coach.
After this, some members went inside and started searching for the young man according to his description. Meanwhile, a young man started trying to run away after seeing the GRP team. Since the gate of the coach was already sealed, he failed to escape. During this time he was interrogated. On which he told his name as Gopal Singh resident of village Ral police station Jait Mathura Uttar Pradesh. When asked to open the bag kept with him and show it, he started misleading. So the team had to be a little strict. When the bag was searched with the same strictness, 10 kg of ganja was found inside it. On this the accused was taken down from the train and brought to the GRP police station and interrogated again. In which he gave information about purchasing ganja from Sambalpur and taking it to Mathura. In the case, an offense was registered against the accused under Section 20B NDPS Act. After this action, GRP is now checking the sleeper as well as AC coaches. During this time, if there is even the slightest doubt, the person is being interrogated and the bag is also being searched.
