Beaten and then hanged, wife killer arrested on the basis of postmortem report

Durg. In Bhilai city, a young man first strangled his wife to death and then hanged her body to make it look like suicide. After the short postmortem report revealed the cause of death, the police took the accused husband into custody. After strict interrogation, the husband confessed to his crime. After this the police arrested the accused. The matter is of Vaishali Nagar police station area.

Vaishali Nagar police station in-charge Mamta Sharma said that the body of Yogita Sahu (32), wife of Vijay Sahu, who lived near Ram Nagar flour mill, was found hanging at 5.30 pm on January 14, 2024. Her husband brought down her body from the noose and took her to Sparsh Hospital.

There the doctors declared the woman dead. The short postmortem report revealed that Yogita had serious injury marks on her head and body, and that she had been strangulated, which led to her death. It was clear that an attempt had been made to make his murder look like suicide. After this, Vaishali Nagar Police interrogated the family members and nearby people. It was revealed that accused Vijay Sahu used to harass his wife for dowry. After this, the police took the husband into custody and interrogated him strictly, in which he confessed to his crime. After this the police arrested the accused.
