Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration: Highlights of the consecration ceremony led by PM Modi

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday led the ritual of “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at the “historic” Ram temple in Ayodhya, after which the idol of Ram Lala was unveiled at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

PM Modi reached Ayodhya on Monday to attend the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at the newly constructed Ram temple. Here are some glimpses of the Prime Minister during the Ram Mandir ceremony.

Wearing a golden kurta and cream colored dhoti, carrying a silver ‘chhatar’ (umbrella) over a red folded dupatta, she went inside the temple premises. They took the ‘Sankalp’ for the “Pran Pratistha Ceremony” and later proceeded to the sanctum sanctorum for the rituals.

The Prime Minister later performed the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, an important ritual in Hindu tradition, which symbolizes the infusion of divine energy into the idol.

After the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, PM Modi performed ‘aarti’ of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

After this the Prime Minister circumambulated the Lord and paid obeisance. This act of devotion, which involves complete prostration with the forehead touching the ground, is a sign of utmost reverence and humility in the Hindu tradition.

PM Modi also met the sadhus present in the temple and took blessings from them.

After the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, PM Modi completed his 11-day fast by taking Charanamrit from the hands of Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj.

PM Modi also greeted the people present at the Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ program in Ayodhya. Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani, former PM HD Deve Gowda and his son HD Kumaraswamy are among those present.

PM Narendra Modi also offered prayers before Lord Shiva at Ayodhya Dham, where he offered water to the ‘Shivling’ after the Pran Pratistha ceremony.

During the ritual of consecration, a lotus flower was placed in the hands of the Prime Minister. PM Modi showered flower petals on the workers who were part of the construction crew at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

The statue of Ram Lalla was unveiled at the consecration ceremony, which was attended by PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

The function was attended by eminent personalities from various fields including cricket, film, Sant Samaj, politics, art, literature, culture and other fields.
