3 criminals arrested, had brutally assaulted a girl working in a fancy store

Balod. The police have arrested the three accused who gang-raped a girl returning from work. The accused were dodging the police by hiding at different places after the incident, and were arrested by the police. Actually, the incident took place in Gunderdehi police station area. On the night of Monday, January 15, a girl working in a fancy store was returning home with her partner after leave. On the way, three drug-addicted youths first chased the girl, blocked the road in a deserted area, beat up the girl’s friend and drove him away from the spot. The three drug addicts forcefully took the girl to a field and raped her one by one.

After this shameful incident, the three accused fled away leaving the victim in the field. The girl was going towards the railway track in a dejected condition. Where the passers-by saw him in a semi-nude condition and informed the Gunderdehi police station. People called the victim’s friends and sent the girl home. After reaching home, the girl told everything to her family members and then went along with her family members and lodged a report of the incident at Gunderdehi police station. Crime number 09/2024 under sections 363, 376, (2)(A), 376 (D), 294, 506, 323 IPC was registered in Gunderdehi police station and taken up for investigation. Keeping in mind the seriousness of the case, SP formed 3 teams and started investigation. After the team looked at the CCTV footage of the incident site and surrounding areas, the accused Rahul Dewar and Bablu Dewar were seen. On the basis of the footage, accused Bablu Dewar was caught from a hotel at bus stand Gunderdehi.

The accused told during interrogation that Rahul Dewar along with Vikram Dewar had carried out the incident. Accused Rahul Dewar and Vikram Dewar are absconding since the incident. Cyber cell was continuously investigating the location of the accused with technical assistance. During this time, village Chilhati district Manpur Mohalla was found. As soon as the police reached Chilahati, both the accused left the scooter and ran away. On the basis of CCTV and technical assistance between Rajnandgaon and Kawardha, it was revealed that accused Vikram Dewar was hiding in the house of one of his relatives in Kawardha. He was surrounded and captured. At the same time, the police caught the accused Rahul Dewar from Nagpur, Maharashtra. All three admitted to committing the crime. All three were sent on judicial remand.
