A criminal selling illegal liquor near Narayya pond arrested

Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal directed all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges including in-charge anti-crime and cyber units to stop smuggling of liquor coming from other states and also to take action against people buying and selling liquor illegally. In the same sequence, on 17.01.2024, Police Station City Kotwali received information that a person is looking for a customer to sell liquor in a white colored plastic bag near Naraiya Talab Sulabh under Police Station City Kotwali area. On which, under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of the station in-charge City Kotwali, the team of the police station City Kotwali identified and arrested the person of the description described by the informer.

Who started running after seeing the police, who was surrounded and caught with the help of staff and witnesses. During interrogation by the team members, the person revealed his name as Vinod Sarathi, father Laxman Sarathi, age 22 years, behind Sakin Raj Talkies, in front of Govind Hotel English Liquor Shop. Gol Bazar police station was said to be of Gol Bazar Raipur (Chhattisgarh). When the team members searched the plastic sack kept with him, it was found that Golden Goa Deluxe Whiskey 29 Pauwa was written in the sack.

When asked for valid documents regarding possession of liquor, they told that there was no document of any kind. On which the accused was arrested and illegally kept from his possession Golden Goa Deluxe Whiskey 29 Pawas filled with 180 ML of liquor, total quantity 5 liters 220 ml Jumla, worth Rs 3480/- and cash sale amount of Rs 450 was found by witnesses on the spot. Crime number 13/24 under section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered against the accused in police station Kotwali and action was taken.
