ED interrogated Ranu Sahu and Soumya Chaurasia in jail

Raipur. In the coal levy scam, the ED team today interrogated IAS Ranu Sahu and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s deputy secretary Soumya Chaurasia for about three hours for the third consecutive day. Both the accused are detained in Raipur Central Jail.

Let us tell you that during the hearing of the coal scam on January 1, Special Court Judge Ajay Singh Rajput had given permission to the ED to go to the jail and interrogate the accused from January 10 to 16. After this, ED interrogated the accused for the third consecutive day on Friday. This inquiry will continue till January 16.

In Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate had exposed an alleged coal scam worth Rs 540 crore. After this, on July 21, 2023, ED also raided Ranu Sahu’s government house in Devendra Nagar. During this time, after about 24 hours of investigation, ED had arrested IAS Ranu Sahu on the morning of 22 July. After this incident, the state government suspended him from the post.
