Relief news regarding new electricity rates

Raipur. There is a good news for the people of the state that new electricity rates will be applicable from April but there is no possibility of increase in domestic rates. If it is seen from electoral politics then these rates will not increase at all. The increase can be made by sending a supplementary plan in July after the Lok Sabha elections. This has been done once in the past.

According to sources, the electricity distribution company has prepared the tariff plan of new rates for the year 2024-25. It will be sent to the Regulatory Commission by January 15. There are indications of some increase in industrial and agricultural rates but there has been no tampering in domestic rates. The company is silent about half the electricity bill in this tariff plan. There are indications that some changes may be made without closing it till the Lok Sabha elections. ED Revenue of the distribution company RS Pathak said that the tariff petition is in the final stage, it will be submitted to the commission by January 15.
