Bengaluru CEO may have premeditated murder of son: Police sources
Bengaluru: The investigation into the murder of a 4-year-old son by a startup CEO mother in Goa has taken a new turn and the police suspect that the accused, 39-year-old Suchana Seth, was planning the crime for a long time. The story of suicide attempt is being fabricated. Sources said that Suchana Seth, CEO of a Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence startup company, had posted a post on social media with her son’s photo and the hashtag “What will happen to him?” Police sources said the post was written on October 10, 2023 and Vikas had raised suspicion of pre-planning of the murder by the accused mother.
Police have also received information that the accused Suchana Seth was arrogant and quarrelsome in the apartment complex. Sources also said that after getting visitation rights, father Venkatraman had reached Bengaluru from Jakarta, Indonesia to meet his son on Sunday. He had brought toys and new clothes for the child. But, Suchana Seth had gone to Goa with the child on Saturday. Venkatraman made several phone calls and video calls to him but there was no response. Meanwhile, four-year-old Chinmay’s family performed the last rites at Harishchandra Ghat here.
The heart-wrenching scene of father Venkatraman walking towards the graveyard carrying his child’s body in both his hands and mourning, evoked emotions. Venkatram and the family have not made any statement and have requested to speak to the media at a later date. Police sources said that once the last rites are performed, Goa Police will interrogate Venkatraman. Accused Suchana Seth had claimed that she tried to render her son unconscious by pressing a pillow on his face to prevent him from talking to his father on video call and the child died of suffocation. Suchana had claimed that she later tried to commit suicide by cutting her hands, but failed.
Unable to understand what to do in this situation, she put the body in a suitcase and went out of the hotel. Investigation has revealed that the deceased boy had talked to his father on video call on Sunday. Seth had confessed that she did not want her son to talk to his father at all. A preliminary investigation revealed that she committed the crime to deprive her ex-husband of access to the child after she was granted visitation rights by the court. Venkatraman worked in a reputed company. Goa Police, along with Karnataka Police, arrested Seth for allegedly murdering his four-year-old son in a service apartment in Goa.
