VIJAYAWADA: YSRC steps up efforts to woo ‘disgruntled’ leaders ahead of third list
Vijayawada: Dissatisfaction among party MLAs and leaders over the appointment of new coordinators or in-charges in the assembly constituencies is showing no sign of abating, it is being said that the YSRC leadership is making every possible effort to pacify those who are upset. Either transferred to other areas or dropped.
While some MLAs are inaccessible to the leadership, the YSRC is at work reining them in and keeping its flock together. With reports of change of in-charge in Penamalur, sitting YSRC MLA Kolusu Paradhasaradhi has reportedly distanced himself from the party and leaders for the last two days, sources said.
Although the MLA was asked to meet Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he did not agree. Sources said Pamaru MLA K Anil Kumar met the angry leader and took him to the CM’s camp office. Earlier there were reports that Pardhasaradhi may join TDP and he is in touch with opposition party leaders.
Speaking to reporters at the camp office, former minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) refuted reports that the Penamaluru MLA would be joining the TDP.
Similarly, Tiruvuru MLA’s Rakshana Nidhi had also hinted that he may be dropped in the third list and had reportedly expressed displeasure over the party’s decision.
Meanwhile, Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao is said to have taken the issue of alleged non-cooperation by followers of Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu to the notice of the party leadership. It may be recalled that Velampalli has replaced Malladi in the Vijayawada Central segment.
Though the two leaders share good relations, Malladi’s followers are said to be upset over their leader not being given a ticket from the Central seat, which has a sizeable Brahmin population. Vellampalli reportedly demanded that he should be given a chance to contest the elections again from Vijayawada West.
Asked when the third list would be released, YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said they were preparing the right team. Commenting on TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s comment on the reshuffle of in-charges, Sajjala questioned why leaders of his own party like KS Jawahar were transferred from one segment to another in the first place.
“The TDP does not have leaders to contest all the 175 assembly seats and it has not yet come to a conclusion on how many seats it will allocate to the Jana Sena Party as part of the alliance. “It is sure of its defeat and is preparing the ground by making false allegations regarding the voter list,” he alleged.
