Bengaluru: Truck owners to go on indefinite strike from January 17

Bengaluru: The Federation of Truck Proprietors Associations of Karnataka on Saturday decided to launch an indefinite strike from January 17 against the new anti-aircraft fire law. C. Naveen Reddy, president of the Federation of Truck Proprietors Associations of Karnataka, said the association members held a meeting on the new law and decided to go on an indefinite strike from January 17. “If there is an accident abroad, the driving license is confiscated. We will ask the local security personnel to pay the bail amount in connection with the incident which will cause trouble to truck drivers”, Reddy said during a press conference. Let us tell you that your demand is that this provision of the law should be abolished immediately. “Other requirements also need to be met, including monitoring of trucks in case of accidents and efforts to recover from them by imposing fines in the name of unnecessary traffic congestion,” he said. Let us tell you that conductors across the country are upset with the new proposal to impose heavy fines including 10 years imprisonment. Expressed their anger as the government took the decision unilaterally without consulting truck owners and anyone from the transport sector. Let us tell you that this step of the Central Government will create such a situation that conductors will become reluctant to continue their profession. Srinivas Rao, Suresh, Mansoor Ibrahim and general secretary Narayan Prasad were present in the press conference.
