Kothagudem: Tribal games and sports competition started

Kothagudem: The fourth state level sporting event and Tribal Games-2024 began in a festive atmosphere at the School of Sports Ahram in Kinnerasani D Paloncha mandal of the district on Thursday. Over 2,000 athletes from four ITDAs of the state participated in the three-day event. Aswaraopet and Vaira MLAs Jare Adinarayana and Malothu Ramadasu Naik, District Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala, Bhadrachalam ITDA Project Officer Prateek Jain inaugurated the sports competition. From day one he conducted a series of trials for boys and girls in volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, archery and athletics. Students of Tribal Ashram School presented colorful cultural programs which inaugurated the sports competition. ITDA PO Jain said that special committees have been formed for the successful conduct of the sports meet. He made arrangements for the athletes and coaches to stay, provided them with blankets, lockers and prepared a special menu, he said.
