Assam: 12 killed, 25 injured in truck-bus collision in Golaghat

Golaghat: At least 12 people were killed and 25 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Assam’s Golaghat district on Wednesday morning. Police gave this information. Golaghat district Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh told ANI that the accident occurred around 5 am on Wednesday. “The bus carrying a team was going from Kamarbandha area of Golaghat district towards Tilinga temple. The bus moved along with a truck in Balijan area and the truck came from the opposite direction towards Jorhat. They recovered 10 bodies from the spot and sent them to CHC D Dergaon. The 27 injured people were sent to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where two people died,” Rajen Singh said. After the incident, local people reached the spot and took part in the rescue operations. SP of Golaghat district said that so far 12 people have died in the accident.
