Rajyavardhan Rathore said this after taking over as Cabinet Minister
Jaipur: Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore took charge as Cabinet Minister at the state secretariat in Jaipur on Monday and said that the coming five years are very important for the state.
“It is the responsibility of the officers, employees and all of us to serve the people of Rajasthan. The Constitution also says that whatever responsibility you have, fulfill it properly… These five years are very important for Rajasthan,” Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore told reporters on Monday.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel also took charge as Cabinet Minister at the Secretariat in Jaipur.
He said, “Our effort will be to make Rajasthan free from corruption and mafia free with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas’.”
The swearing-in ceremony of the Rajasthan state cabinet took place at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur on Saturday, in which 22 ministers were inducted.
Twelve Cabinet-level ministers, five Ministers of State (MoS) with independent charge and five Ministers of State took the oath of office.
Rathore served as a commissioned officer in the Grenadiers Regiment of the Indian Army before retiring as a colonel in 2013. He served as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports from 2017 to 2019.
Rathore became the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Information and Broadcasting in 2018.
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore became the first Indian since Independence to win an individual silver medal at the Olympics when he stood on the podium for men’s double trap shooting at Athens 2004.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rathore won the Jaipur Rural seat by defeating Congress veteran Dr CP Joshi by a huge margin of 3,32,896 votes.
During the swearing-in ceremony on Saturday, Madan Dilawar, Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, Babulal Kharadi, Jogaram Patel, Suresh Rawat, Avinash Gehlot, Zoraram Kumawat, Hemant Meena, Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary and Sumit Godara also took oath as cabinet ministers.
Earlier on December 15, Bhajanlal Sharma had taken oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.
In the assembly elections, BJP won 115 seats and Congress stood second with 69 seats. Voting for 199 out of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan was held on November 25.
