The brute was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment

Manendragarh Chirmiri Bharatpur. A case of minor rape came to light in the district 3 years ago. The accused had raped the minor girl on the pretext of marriage. The police arrested the accused after the victim filed a case. Hearing the case on Saturday, after about 3 and a half years, the Additional Sessions Court FTSC POCSO Manendragarh has sentenced the accused of rape. The accused has been sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment.

The incident occurred on 1 July 2020 in Kelhari police station area. The accused lured a minor girl of about half his age into marriage. Special Public Prosecutor GS Rai said, accused 33 had gone to visit the victim’s village. During this time, the accused and the victim became acquainted. Meanwhile, the accused used to call the victim’s mobile and say that he wants to get married. On the date of the incident, July 1, 2020, at midnight, he had taken the girl away to his uncle’s deserted house. Here he had physical relations with the victim. The accused kept her in her uncle’s house and forcibly had physical relations with her.

On the report of the victim’s father, the police registered a case against the accused under sections 363, 366, 376 (2) and sections 4, 6 of the Act and after taking action, arrested the accused and sent him to jail. Also, the investigation report of the case was submitted to the Additional Sessions Court FTSC POCSO Manendragarh.
