Assam: RSS chief expressed happiness over pact with ULFA

Dibrugarh: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, who is currently in Assam, expressed his happiness over the recent developments related to the signing of a pact with the United Front of Liberation of Assam. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat is on Assam tour. A meeting was held at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters in Dibrugarh after the peace treaty was signed between the government and the United Front for the Liberation of Assam on Friday. This meeting lasted from 9 am to around 9:45 am on Saturday at Keshav Bhawan. The meeting was attended by many prominent leaders including the Minister of Ports, Navigation and Via Navigation of the Central Government and the Minister of AYUSH of the Government of India. Director of Assam Medical College, Dr. Prashant Kumar Dihingia also participated in this program. After this meeting, a high ranking member conveyed the views of the chief to the media members present at Keshav Bhawan. He said that this is a very positive step, which will promote the development of the state of Assam. Soon after the meeting, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief left for Dibrugarh airport from where he was scheduled to fly to Calcutta. Reached Dibrugarh on Friday night after attending the organization meeting in Majuli. Addressing the Luit Subansiri Samavesh organized by the Majuli unit of the RSS on Friday, Bhagwat said, “We must develop our nation on the basis of the time-tested personality of India.” “Additionally, a valid question is forever valid: without patriotism and unity among us, there will be no lasting freedom. The main reason behind the formation of RSS is to awaken our society to be patriotic and organized.
