Rajasthan BJP reshuffled its top team
Jaipur (IANS) With less than six months left for the Rajasthan assembly elections, the BJP has announced a major reshuffle in its state unit.
Under this, Alwar MP Mahant Balak Nath has been made the State Vice President. Nath belongs to the OBC Yadav community, who defeated veteran Congress leader Bhanwar Jitendra Singh from Alwar in the 2018 Lok Sabha elections.
MLA Madan Dilawar, a critic of Raje, who was in the previous executive, has been dropped from the latest list. Dilawar was sidelined during Raje’s tenure, but was brought back under former state BJP chief Satish Poonia.
Meanwhile, BJP’s Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari has retained her position in the list of office-bearers.
BJP sources said that the new names have been included keeping in view the social engineering equations.
The new 29-member list has 11 state vice-presidents, five general secretaries, 11 secretaries, one treasurer and one co-treasurer. The emphasis has been on OBCs, MBCs, SCs and STs in the 29-member executive committee to “achieve social engineering just before the elections”, party leaders said.
It is necessary to mention here that assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan in December.
This step by C.P. This comes three months after Joshi took over as the state BJP president. The new BJP state executive follows the one that was constituted in 2020 during the tenure of Satish Poonia, who headed the committee between 2019 and 2023.
The names of OBC and MBC (Most Backward Class) leaders as well as leaders from Jat, Gujjar, Yadav, Bishnoi, Kumawat and Saini castes have been included in the list, and so have the names of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.
The emphasis has been on backward castes, SCs and STs to achieve social engineering just before elections.
Party sources said some of the new vice-presidents include Tonk-Sawai Madhopur MP Sukhbir Jaunapuria, who is from the Gujjar community, former MP C.R. Chowdhary and Santosh Ahlawat – both Jats – and former minister Prabhulal Saini, some of whom are supporters of former CM Vasundhara Raje.
