IMD had expressed the possibility of yellow alert
Haryana | In Haryana, the monsoon passed without rain. Due to drizzle in the state, there has been a decrease of 1.1 degree in the average night temperature. At present, it is sunny in most of the districts and there are light clouds in the sky. In the monsoon season, people of many districts are craving for good rains.
Dr. Madan Khichad, Chairman, Department of Agricultural Meteorology, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, says that the weather will remain changeable in the state till July 2. Monsoon activity will increase in most areas of the state due to excess moisture content in the atmosphere. Intermittent moderate to heavy rain is very likely at most places with wind over northern districts during July 1. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the western and southern districts during this period. There may be some drop in day temperature.
According to IMD, Karnal has received 28 mm of rain and Kurukshetra 31 mm of rain since 5 am today. The Meteorological Department had predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Kaithal, Rajound, Assandh, Jind, Gohana, Gannaur, Rohtak and Nuh in the morning, but the clouds here passed without rain.
There was no rain in Kaithal. Light drizzle was witnessed for some time in Sonepat, whereas in Jind only Aleva received brief rains. There was a yellow alert for Kaithal, Karnal, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Panchkula till 11.30 am.
