Ranchi bus stand caught fire, many buses burnt

Ranchi: Three more passenger buses were gutted in a fire at Khadgarha bus stand located in Kantatoli, Ranchi at around 3 pm on Thursday. Earlier, five buses were gutted in the fire at 12 o’clock. In this way a total of 8 buses have been burnt. The fire brigade has brought the fire under control. A big conspiracy is being suspected behind the incident. Due to the fire, a situation like stampede and chaos was created in the bus stand. It is a matter of honor that there was no casualty in this.

Eyewitnesses told that at around 12 noon suddenly smoke was seen rising from a part of the bus stand. Within a short time, two buses started burning. Later, the flames engulfed two more buses parked nearby. The flames were so strong that within minutes the buses were burnt to ashes. Fire engines reached the spot after about an hour. Earlier, the local people and Lower Bazar police station tried to control the fire. But, they did not succeed. Again when four buses caught fire one by one, fire brigade vehicles were present on the spot. By the time the fire was doused, these buses were also burnt to ashes.

The reasons for the fire have not been revealed yet. Agents at the bus stand say that the buses caught fire possibly due to a short circuit. However, the police probing the matter are not ruling out the possibility of a conspiracy behind it. After the fire, there was chaos among the agents, hawkers and passengers present in the bus.
