59 roads closed after monsoon rains in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand | Due to the rains in Uttarakhand, the difficulties of the people have also increased. Roads have been closed in many districts due to monsoon rains. Passengers are stuck at various places due to the closure of roads. 59 roads are closed due to rain in Uttarakhand. According to the Public Works Department, 31 of these roads are of PMGSY.

Out of the roads closed due to rain, 28 roads are under PWD. Lonivi Chief Engineer Ashok Kumar told that efforts are on to open the roads. He told, 78 roads were already closed, 45 were closed on Tuesday. 64 roads were opened on Tuesday, the work of opening 59 is in progress.

Due to the dilapidated condition of most of the internal roads of New Tehri city, people are facing a lot of problems. On behalf of the people of the city, several times the municipal administration was demanded to improve the condition of the roads, but the roads could not be improved. The municipal administration is crying out for the budget for the improvement of the roads.

About 36 km from New Tehri city. Most of the internal roads are in a dilapidated condition, there is a fear of accident all the time due to the presence of big potholes in many places. People associated with various organizations of the city have demanded many times for the improvement of the internal roads of the city, but the roads could not be improved.

The condition of the road going from Moldhar to Sector 4E Kemsari via 5A to Bauradi, Moldhar to Sector 4E of the city is worst. Last year, the potholes made on the roads were filled by the municipality administration through Lonivi Bauradi, but due to lack of quality testing work, the condition of the roads worsened again due to rain.

Sundarlal Uniyal, president of the New Tehri Citizen Forum, said that the municipality and the district administration have been informed several times through letters regarding the repair of the city’s internal roads, but the condition of the roads could not be improved. About 17 kms. The road is near Lonivi. For the repair of internal roads of the city, a proposal of about 12 crores has been sent to the government by the municipality. The roads of the city will be repaired only after getting the budget.

In Pithoragarh district Musari Hokra Kanda, Chirkila Jamku as well as Adichaura Hunera road are running closed in the district after rains. Due to the closure of these roads, a population of more than 10,000 is facing problems. People are not able to get even the daily essentials from the market. Due to this people are not getting fresh vegetables.

Traffic was restored on Tuesday after half a day on the Tawaghat-Pangla road, which was completely closed for traffic. The closed road at Jyoti Nala, one kilometer ahead of Tawaghat bridge, has opened after 45 hours. Opening of the Lipulekh road till late evening will provide convenience to Chhota Kailas passengers.
