Rishikesh Shankaracharya raised questions on the cleanliness of Ganga

Uttarakhand : Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth Swami Avimukteshwaranand has raised questions on the efforts of the government regarding the cleanliness of Ganga. Said that it is necessary for the people of the country to have knowledge of the glory of Ganga.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj said that economic, social, cultural, religious and spiritual importance of Ganga is high. But in spite of this, at present, Ganga has been made a means of carrying filth and garbage. Said that the attention of the rulers has to be drawn towards this. Shankaracharya had reached Dayanand Ashram. He said this while talking to reporters. Said, Ganga makes the world’s largest fertile basin.

Local residents have demanded installation of forest check post barrier on Daragad-Kathian motor road of Babar Range under Chakrata Forest Division. People say that due to lack of barrier, a large amount of forest products are being smuggled through this route.
Daragad Beat, Lakhau, Dangutha, Mundali, Kathian Beat of Babar Range have 90 percent deodar forest. Local villagers Arjun Singh, Major Singh, Kedar Singh, Balveer, Yashpal Chauhan, Balakram, Bhagmal, Matawar Singh say that since the cutter machine started in vogue, the incidents of illegal felling have increased.
