A wave of happiness among electrical workers due to the implementation of the old pension scheme, Ajmer Discom plans

State Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot in the budget speech of the year 2023-24 had announced the implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for the employees of State Undertakings / Autonomous Bodies / Boards / Universities and other Corporations and the Finance Department also issued orders soon. OPS has been implemented wherever the EPF/CPF scheme was applicable earlier on the basis of option.
There is a wave of happiness among all the state employees and officers regarding the official announcement of this scheme and its implementation, but there is a special atmosphere of happiness in Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam. While on the one hand the officers and employees expressed their happiness and expressed their thanks to the State Government on receiving the OPS orders, on the other hand, the Corporation administration thanked the Managing Director Mr. NS Nirvana for the successful implementation of the “Old Pension Scheme” scheme. To give benefits of OPS to the employees of 11 districts of the corporation, on June 19 and June 23, help camps were also organized in the concerned offices. During the camp, all information about the Old Pension Scheme was provided to the employees, retired employees and dependents of deceased employees. The Managing Director said that organizing such camps has increased the curiosity of the employees towards the Old Pension Scheme. Along with this, they have also received all the information about the scheme, this helped them to choose the option.
The employees who came to the workshop and camps said in one voice that the pension received in the NPS implemented earlier is dependent on the market returns, while in the old pension scheme, 50 percent of the last salary is given as guaranteed pension and with the rates of dearness allowance. The pension amount keeps on increasing. For this reason, the government has not only provided social security to the state employees but has also saved them from the problems related to NPS.
The work of OPS implementation is being done with full readiness. For its successful implementation, a workshop was organized in the past and this month all the information about the old pension scheme was provided to the employees, retired employees and dependents of the deceased employees.
